Privacy policy

We collect the least data we need to run your account safely, and we never sell it. This policy explains the details.

What we collect

Identity: your name, phone number, email, and the ID documents and selfie you give us for verification. Money: wallet balances, payment records, beneficiary details and delivery addresses you enter. Security: device and browser type, sign-in times, and fraud signals. Support: messages you send us, including marketplace chat reports.

Why we keep it

To open and run your account, to move money when you instruct us, to detect and stop fraud, to answer your support requests, to meet anti-money-laundering and tax duties, and to improve the app with combined, de-identified statistics.

How long we keep it

Wallet and payment records: at least five years, as Nigerian money-transmission law requires. Verification documents: for the life of the account plus the statutory retention period. App analytics: 24 months. Support messages: 24 months. Everything else: only while your account is open or a request is being handled.

Who we share it with

Payment processors and banks to move your money; identity-checking providers to verify accounts; fraud-prevention services; and regulators, law enforcement or courts where the law compels us. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your transaction PIN is stored only as a salted, slow hash — nobody at Billsline can read it. Staff access is role-based, logged in a tamper-evident audit trail, and reviewed. Sensitive staff actions require extra approval.

Your rights

You can see and correct your details in the app, download your payment history, withdraw marketing consent, and ask us to close your account and delete your data. To exercise any right without signing in — for example if you lost access — use our public data request form. We respond within 30 days.

Contact

Privacy questions and complaints go to our support desk through the app. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
